We talk with Matilde about her performance at the Lowlands Throwdown that qualified her for her first CrossFit Games Appearance. She has made huge strides in the last year overcoming a Knee Injury and a Bicycle accident. She has moved to CrossFit Oslo, Hired Kristin Holte as her mental coach and her believe in herself has grown to the point where she feels she belongs on the floor with those she watched in documentaries that inspired her to start competing.
Carolyne is headed back to Madison where she starred as a hockey player at the University of Wisconsin for her 3rd CrossFit Games. We talk about Title IX and how this has changed the landscape of women's sports. We talk about teaching and coaching High Schoolers. Working full time and training for the Highest levels of the sport.
We talk with Alex Vigneault about making it back to the Games what it took to get there and his goals for this years Games. Jason has lived quite the life as a professional baseball player and when his agent suggested he may be a good agent himself he dove in with all the excitement of playing baseball. Eventually he starts his own agency LAB Management that represents Baseball Players, Golfers, Track Stars and of Course those in the fitness world including CrossFIt. Jason also owns Xendurance and tells the story of finding Xendurance and how it changed things dramatically for him and he knew he had to be a part of it.
We talk live with Syndicate Crown podium finisher Cole Greashaber. We learn about his Athletic Background in Diving, Pole Vault and Gymnastics (Sound like a Danielle Brandon background). His podium finish at the CrossFit Game in the Teen division where he shared the podium with some stellar athletes who are all going to the Games this year. Paige talks about her hockey career and how long trips to be able to play with her mom developed a bond between them that still exists today. Paige's mom still proudly displays shirts at competitions that say Paige's Mom. Colten talks to us about training for the Granite Games and eventually the CrossFit Games. Charlie and Scott Sit down with Chase and discuss growing up in West Virginia, Collegiate Wrestling, and being an Academic Wizard. Chase discusses how he went into local TV Ad Sales and finally getting a dream opportunity with Flo Elite where he met Armen Hammer and Kyle and Cliff and formed what would be known as Scale as Needed. We talk about Chase's journey with these guys and how they eventually left Flo Elite. Chase is now with C4 Energy doing marketing. CrossFit Faru's co-founder, Wesley Gold is the Law Enforcement Officer for the Grumeti Reserve and manages 100+ anti-poaching scouts on the ground in Tanzania and oversees the efforts to reduce poaching in the area. Kristen Chandler shares what the anti-poaching scouts go through in a day, how dangerous their job is and how CrossFit is preparing the scouts to be more prepared doing their jobs. The next big push is to get an L1 done out to the Serengeti so that the scouts can get the qualification and that will give them consistency.
