Erin Smith was on full Scholarship at Ohio Northern University to play Volleyball. Just before her Sophomore year her and her friends were in a horrific motorcycle accident where a drunk driver crossed the median on Interstate 71 and hit them head on. Erin was the only one of her friends to survive the accident, but was faced with an uphill battle to just gain a sense of normalcy. Erin's family reached out to several trainers to see if they would work with Erin and after countless no's, Marcus Creaturo said yes and the journey to becoming functional again, eventually making Erin a CrossFit Athlete!

Scott and Cat sit down with Kelly Baker member of the Meat Squad Team that qualified for the Games out of the Filthy 150. We talk about how competitive she is and how that forced her to find activities outside of the traditional rec leagues, She started running marathons, and found CrossFit as a way to release the competitive side of her. More importantly she talks about how most her life she competed to gain acceptance from others and now she is at a point that what she does she does for herself and she isn't going to be meek about it. She wants to do things that scare her and are outside her comfort zone. She wants to help children understand body image issues and combat the societal norms when it comes to gender stereotypes. We sit down with Bethany Shadburne The 2019 CrossFit Games 8th Fittest Woman in the World. Bethany talks to us about growing up as a highly competitive gymnast until a severe back injury ended all that, and doctors told her she will never be able to compete again and most likely would never run again. After a year off of competitive Sports Bethany went on to prove everyone wrong and competed at very high levels in Running, Triathalons, Body Building and eventually CrossFit. Bethany talks a lot about mindset and how sometimes that switch she has to push through the darkest moments of a workout and makes her as great as she is also is what may be breaking down her body and how she has to find a different approach going forward. On the outside Jack appeared to have it all. Nobody really new his daily struggle from the time of being a small child into adulthood.
